This is a book I go back to every year or two.
Not only does Richard Foster explains the disciplines but, as you read, you gain understanding that enables you to walk them out.
I especially like this "Anniversary Edition" because there is
some valuable meat and potatoes in the introductions.
Waiting on God by Andrew Murray
This is another book that I go back to time and time again.
In our hurry-up world, I cannot express how deeply this book helps to slow me down, to take a breath, and to sit in the Lord's presence.
On a side note, two of my books were inspired by something I had read in this book: Abundance in Empty Hands and The Fear of the Lord.
